Kurukh Literary Society of India (Regd.) had its birth on October 2006 at Ranchi (Jharkhand) during the "1st National Conference on Pronmotion of Kurukh Language" organised by Welfare Association of Tribes of Chotanapur (Reg.) and Tribal and Regional Language Department, Ranchi University Ranchi.
"Kurukh" is the language spoken by 1.8 million members of Oraon tribes in east central India alone and approx 0.2 million are spread in the rest part of India and abroad. The Society is committed to promote kurukh literature in all the richness and diversity through India and abroad.
